Corinne and Ben produce a small numbers of quality birds for Christmas at Puzzling Gully, located in the Derrymore valley, east of Toowoomba. The turkey poults (young turkeys) start their lives in a brooder which keeps them warm and protected from predators. They eat a high protein, mixed grain diet with leafy greens as a treat and to ready them for the grass in their paddock. When old enough, they’re moved to the paddock where they have shade, shelter, food and water as well as a huge space to scratch, dig, find bugs and eat grass; they’re protected from predators by a tall fence. They’re hand processed at a local, small abattoir. You can buy from the local farmers market order online.
